WASHINGTON, July 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CenturyLink, Inc. (NYSE: CTL) recently won a contract to provide disaster recovery services to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

CenturyLink will help the OCC develop and manage a secure, reliable and cost-effective disaster recovery service for its mission-critical systems by providing a dedicated, always ready, on-demand server environment to ensure the continuity of operations in the event of a natural or man-made disaster.

The company will specifically support the OCC's disaster recovery program testing, security, compliance, configuration management, emergency operations and documentation requirements.

The one-year contract for managed disaster recovery services with dedicated hardware and storage has five one-year options and a contract ceiling of $29 million.

"CenturyLink is pleased to provide the OCC with disaster recovery services that will help the agency that oversees our nation's banking system maintain continuity of operations in the event of an emergency," said CenturyLink Senior Vice President and General Manager Tim Meehan, who leads the company's federal government team.

By supplying colocation, managed hosting and IT services over its carrier-class network, CenturyLink provides government agencies with the security and reliability they need to carry out their important missions.

CenturyLink is ranked No. 34 on Washington Technology's 2016 Top 100 list of federal government IT contractors.
