Qwest Honored as Partner of the Year by Genesys Telecommunications Labs
May 20, 2008

DENVER, May 21, 2008 – Qwest Communications International Inc. (NYSE: Q) today announced that it has been honored as North American Partner of the Year by Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories, Inc., an Alcatel-Lucent company (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU).  As a member of the Genesys Partner Program, Qwest received the award during the annual G-Force user conference in San Antonio, Texas.

Awards are based on Genesys partner growth initiatives and how well partners take advantage of opportunities for collaboration with Genesys during the previous year. Qwest was recognized for its strength in offering Contact Center Solutions via a network-hosted Genesys, multi-tenant platform architecture. Qwest has combined Genesys’ superior contact center software with its state of the art network to deliver a highly reliable, highly scalable Contact Center Solution to the market. Previously, Qwest was twice named the Genesys Managed Services Provider of the Year.

“Qwest’s integrated solutions take the complexity out of managing the underlying technology structure of a contact center letting customers cost-effectively deliver a superior end-user experience,” said Dan Yost, executive vice president of Product and IT for Qwest. “Our portfolio is increasingly nimble due to enhancements like session initiated protocol (SIP) and scalable enough to serve the needs of the smallest to largest customer.”

“The Genesys Partner Programprovides a framework for partners to leverage our technology leadership in order to increase their own market share and value,” said Paul Segre, president and CEO, Genesys. “Qwest clearly went above and beyond in its effort to motivate the market to adopt new ideas, facilitate joint technology offerings with Genesys and develop integrated solutions for the marketplace.”

The Qwest Contact Center Solutions® suite is comprised of several flexible, scalable and highly reliable Qwest network hosted contact center services that can work independently or together to assist customers in managing their inbound and outbound contact centers. These services include routing and distributing of voice, Web chat and email requests to live agents regardless of geographic location as well as caller self service interactive voice response applications. The portfolio includes: Qwest Hosted IVR, Qwest Notify, Qwest EZ Route, Q Routing and Qwest® Toll Free Service.
