CenturyLink Appreciates FCC Order Granting Relief
July 10, 2019

WASHINGTON, July 10, 2019CenturyLink, Inc. (NYSE: CTL) thanks the FCC for voting today to grant relief from unnecessary pricing and tariff regulation of business data services and from unbundling obligations for dedicated transport services.

“We appreciate that the FCC voted to grant incumbent carriers relief from outdated pricing, tariff and unbundling regulations for dedicated transport services, thus encouraging carriers to make network investments,” said David Bartlett, CenturyLink vice president of federal government affairs. “This is an important start in recognizing that businesses have more facilities-based choices and innovative solutions available to them today than policymakers could ever have imagined in the mid-1990s when these unbundling and pricing obligations were established. We agree that today’s digital revolution and resulting marketplace have eliminated the need for incumbent carriers such as CenturyLink to share their networks and services with competitors at below-market rates.”
