DENVER, Dec. 13, 2021 – Lumen Technologies (NYSE: LUMN) is taking steps to help solve the business demands of today and the future by enabling more than 600,000 additional buildings throughout the country with faster internet speeds, up to 1 gigabit per second.
These faster speeds will be available to small and large-sized businesses located in office buildings near the Lumen fiber network, giving them the power to turn up speeds they’ve never had before.
“Powering hundreds of thousands of buildings with gigabit speeds is a game-changer for businesses – fast connections are no longer optional, they’re a requirement,” said Ed Morche, Lumen president of North American enterprise and public sector. “We’re delivering speeds to business owners in major metro cities that desperately need faster connections to meet their demanding business challenges and compete in today’s digital marketplace.”
Lumen has already enabled more than 100,000 business locations in Arizona, Colorado and Washington with up to 1 gigabit ethernet capability over the Lumen global Tier 1 Internet backbone. Future gigabit deployments will be rolled out in additional states in the coming months.
