CenturyLink CEO Delivers Keynote Address To NATO Industry Conference

CenturyLink, Inc. (NYSE: CTL) CEO and President Glen F. Post, III delivered an industry keynote address highlighting the benefits of public-private partnerships to high-ranking government, military and industry leaders attending the NATO Communications and Information Agency’s Annual Industry Conference and AFCEA TechNet International being held in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada April 24-26.

In a speech entitled, “New models for government – industry collaboration for a new era of cyber threats,” Post noted that collectively, we must move toward partnerships with trusted peers. “We have found that our trusted partnerships play a critical role in combating the cyber threat, since we all bring different assets, approaches and specialized knowledge to the table,” he told attendees at the conference known as NITEC17 entitled, “Sharpening NATO’s Technological Edge: Adaptive Partnerships and the Innovative Power of Alliance Industry.”

“Securing our collective networks against evolving cyber threats begins when organizations acknowledge we are all interdependent and that we face common threats and vulnerabilities,” Post said. “It is only by working together that we can create the best technologies, processes and world-leading solutions.”

CenturyLink is investing in the technologies, services and trusted partnerships that can help customers stay ahead of growing cyber threats and fulfill their missions. The company is leveraging the latest in Software Defined Networking and Network Functions Virtualization, along with big data analytics, to better predict, detect and respond to malicious cyber attacks. “We’re also committed to providing built-in interoperability and ways IT systems can talk to each other via the cloud,” he said.

“At the end of the day, cybersecurity is not just a job. It’s an obligation,” Post explained. “Cybersecurity is about protecting our families, our friends, our businesses, our economies and our countries around the world.”
