Lumen joins forces with Latino Leadership Institute to prime Latinx professionals for success

The Lumen Technologies University Relations team is traveling to colleges and universities across the U.S. looking for the company’s next generation of early career talent.

The team is attending career fairs—in person and virtually—at dozens of schools through early November. Finding and hiring young talent is a hallmark of Lumen’s ongoing commitment to bring fresh insights and creativity to its global team.

“There’s no doubt the workplace is shifting—and rapidly. GenZ is expected to make up 30% of the workforce by 2030, and with the talent shortage a top emerging risk for companies globally, this digital-native generation is likely to have a significant impact on our organization,” said Lauren Terrill, Lumen Director of Talent Acquisition, University Relations.

“Our university recruitment team via both on-campus and virtual events, helps Lumen engage with this emerging talent,” Terrill added. “This allows us to attract diverse individuals with varying backgrounds by targeting campuses nationwide including public/private and minority-serving institutions such as HBCUs, HSIs, AANAPISIs, and women’s colleges. We have the opportunity to connect with exceptional talent, create Lumen brand awareness, socialize our career path opportunities and meaningful work, as well as share visibility to our culture and people. Campus recruitment is one of the best ways to tap into this new generation of talent.”

This Fall the University Relations Team has been in person recruiting top talent in AZ, CO, FL, OK, and VA. The road show continues as we wrap up our Fall recruitment and will be available in-person to discuss open positions, company benefits, and future work opportunities at the following schools:

Lumen has also launched its nationally recognized and award-winning summer internship program for 2024. This past summer, Lumen extended job offers to 67% of eligible interns, with a 99% acceptance rate. Let’s hear what they have to say!
